Summary of survey results
When I surveyed my favorite RPG game series I’ve played so far, the number one was “Dragon Quest”.
Others will be introduced in the ranking format.
“Dragon Quest” came in first place.
After 2nd place, “Pocket Monsters” and “Final Fantasy” followed, and “Persona” came in 8th place.
1st place: Dragon Quest
・I think it’s a very interesting game with many cool monsters and many spin-off works such as Heroes and Monsters. (Male, 20s)
・I played Dragon Quest 8. The unprecedented open world was really shocking, and even as a child, I was moved by the exhilarating feeling of running through the land, watching the vast ocean from the top of the hill. (Male, 20s)
・It’s an RPG game that Japan boasts to the world, and it’s a product that I’ve been playing since I was a child, and the story and songs are wonderful. (Female in her 40s)
The first place was “Dragon Quest”.
It is a game that is well known and many people are playing the series. 2nd place: Pokemon
・The number one reason is that I enjoy the sense of accomplishment when I travel with my favorite Pokemon to raise their level and enter the Hall of Fame. Also, I love all the series because they have good stories and can be enjoyed even after becoming an adult. (Female in her 20s)
・Enjoying the story is important in RPGs, but in the Pokemon series, you can raise your Pokemon and play against them online. This is my favorite game out of the above, because unlike other RPGs, you can play against other people. (Male, 30s)
・I think the reason is that you can enjoy sharing information with friends and family. Nowadays, everyone is playing games, and when a new version comes out, I think it’s a strength that you can buy different versions, exchange them, and play against each other! (Female in her 30s)
Second place is “Pokemon”.
There are many opinions that the world view is built in and there are elements to replay, so it is fun to play without getting bored even after many years.
3rd place: Final Fantasy
・I like the way the pictures look so beautiful, and I feel that the story development is quite enjoyable until the end without getting bored. (Female in her 20s)
・The story is interesting. All works are good and you can sympathize with the characters. The graphics are great and it’s fun to play. (Male, 20s)
・To be honest, I hesitated with the “Dragon Quest series”, but I chose “Final Fantasy” because I was attracted to the magnificent world view and characters. As the series progresses, the battle action becomes more powerful, and the quality of the movies, etc. is second to none. No wonder it has sold over 100 million copies worldwide. My personal favorite is FINAL FANTASY 7, and I think it’s one of the best RPGs in history. (Male, 30s)
4th place: Super Mario
・A classic from the old days. I think Mario is good because it can be enjoyed by the whole family and is enjoyed all over the world. (Female in her 40s)
・You can enjoy it from small children to adults, and I love the cuteness of the world and characters. And it’s good that it’s a game that everyone can enjoy together. (Female in her 30s)
・Even though I was a child, when Super Mario was released on the Famicom cassette, I remember thinking that it was a great game. In particular, I was attracted to the free choice of clearing each course in order or using warp. Also, there are many tricks such as infinite up, and it was the most fun game. (Male in his 40s)
5th place:The Legend of Zelda
・The mystery-solving element that is not found in ordinary RPGs is interesting. Also, because there is a deep and magnificent story and you can get into the world view. (Female in her 30s)
– Not only the story, but also the characters that appear are very attractive. There are a lot of works, but all of them are interesting and impressive, and they are my favorite works. (Female in her 20s) ・I got stuck in the world of Breath of the Wild. Even if you defeat the final boss, there are many other elements to play, and it is not uncommon for new discoveries to be made in the vast field. I was able to enjoy it for a long time, and because of this, I became interested in the old series, started playing, and became interested in the history of Zelda. (Female from 50s)
6th place: MOTHER
・I fell in love with the mysterious world of MOTHER. I couldn’t read the end of the story, so it was exciting and fun. The characters are also tasteful and fun. (Female in her 40s)
・The stage is set in a world that is close to reality, with almost no otherworldly feeling. I also like each line, and the phone call that says, “Would you like to take a break soon?” after playing for a long time. This is a game where you can get a glimpse of the playfulness of the production staff. (Female in her 30s)
・Although it’s not a standard long-running series, I liked the world view that wasn’t that far from reality, which was rare at the time. (Male, 30s)
7th place: Legend of the Holy Sword
・Because the characters are cute and I like the world view. I’ve played Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3, and I’m glad that each main character has a different story. (Female in her 30s)
・Seiken Densetsu 2 (Super Famicom version) At the time, there were many turn-based RPGs such as Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, but this game is an action RPG type, and it was a work that felt very fresh. There were some fatal bugs, but those are good memories now. (Male, 30s)
・I was hesitant about final fantasy, but from 3 onwards, you can choose the main character, so you can enjoy it as many times as you want, and you can change the party combination, so there are many elements to replay, so I think it’s good. (Female in her 40s) 8th place: Persona
・I chose Persona because the character design is good and the world view is closer to the real world than fantasy, which is different from other RPGs. (Female in her 30s)
・The music in the Persona series is so good that you’ll want to borrow the soundtrack CD and listen to it. I also like the character designs. The individuality of the character is also outstanding, and I think that it can be pushed. The story and operability are also good, and the good tempo at the time of Persona 5’s battle is particularly good. I like it because I can spend a lot of time on the training of personas because there are elements to do. (Male in his 40s) ・It was the first time I played an RPG game and it left a strong impression on me. It’s a good part for RPG beginners that you can progress along the story without raising the level as it is. (Male, 30s)
“Persona” was the result of 8th place.
Some commented that the character designs and music were also attractive. summary
