Summary of survey results
When we surveyed how to clean the game machine by questionnaire, the first place was “wipe with a wet tissue”.
Others will be introduced in the ranking format.
“Wipe with a wet tissue” came in first place.
After 2nd place, “wipe with alcohol” and “wipe with tissue” followed, and “disassemble” came in 6th place.
1st place: Wipe with a wet tissue
・If you use a dry tissue, the fibers of the tissue may stick to it, so wet wipes are the best way to clean. (Female in her 30s)
・Because it’s easy and clean. It is good because you can feel that wiping with something wet rather than just wiping will make it cleaner. (Female in her 40s)
・Since I touch the controller while eating sweets, I wipe it with a wet tissue that can also be used to disinfect. Wipe the main body together (female, 30s)
The first place was “Wipe with a wet tissue”.
Many people use it because it removes dirt better than a tissue, but some people were worried about the water droplets after wiping. 2nd place: Wipe with alcohol
・Because the sebum of the fingers will inevitably stick, I want to wipe it off with alcohol. It’s not something that can be washed completely, so I think alcohol is good from the perspective of sterilization. (Male, 20s)
・Tissues don’t clean well, and anything with water on them will break the machine. (Female from 50s)
・I feel that dirt such as dust is removed and bacteria are removed. Also, I don’t think it will put a burden on the game machine than wiping with water. (Female in her 30s)
The second place is “wipe with alcohol”.
Many people expected the disinfecting effect of alcohol.
3rd place: Wipe with a tissue
・I think it would be nice to wipe with a tissue after wiping with a wet tissue, but I thought that game consoles are electronic devices, so they are vulnerable to water. (Female in her 20s)
・Wipe off with a tissue for now. This is because you want to remove even surface dirt. Because it’s easy to indulge in controllers and such. (Female in her 30s)
・Actually, I want to use a wet tissue with alcohol, but I don’t know if alcohol is good or bad for the machine, so I’ll wipe it with a tissue. (Male, 30s)
4th place: Clean only the screen
・Fingerprints on the screen are the most annoying stains, so cleaning the screen doesn’t seem to break it. I try not to touch the inside because it is scary because there is a risk of damage. (Female in her 20s)
・Since game consoles are sensitive to moisture, I use a dry cloth to wipe off dirt on the LCD screen. The dust blows on me, but since I usually keep it in a case, I only use it when the controller is dusty. (Female in her 30s)
・Gaming consoles with LCD screens don’t collect much dust, so if you clean only the screen with an LCD sheet, the screen will be easier to see. (Female in her 30s)
5th place: take a breath
・I envisioned a game console, DS, etc., where you insert a cassette and play, and when it didn’t start up, I would always blow on the cassette or the main unit. I don’t know if this is really a good thing, but I think it’s the easiest and easiest way to clean. (Male, 20s)
・Because I think that it may break down when I wipe it with a liquid. Because I think that if you breathe, you can remove the dust in the small parts of the parts. (Female in her 30s)
・I have an image that game consoles are very delicate and fragile, so I try not to touch them as much as possible. So, I blow on it to blow dust off. (Female in her 30s)
・I think it’s good to disassemble if possible, but since most manufacturers will void the warranty if you disassemble it, I honestly can’t recommend it. However, if the hardware is already out of warranty, or if you are confident in your skills, disassembly is recommended. The majority of game machine failures are due to the heat generated by the main unit, and the only way to remove the dust that interferes with the exhaustion of that heat is to disassemble it. (Male in his 40s)
・You can’t clean small parts without disassembling. (Female in her 30s) “Disassemble” was the result of 6th place.
Some people said that you can’t clean it properly without
disassembling it, but there is also a risk of breaking it.
In a survey of 100 people, 36.0% of the respondents answered that they would “wipe with a wet tissue.”
Also, as the reason for answering, there were many opinions that it seems that dirt can be removed better than tissues, and that it is easy and can be cleaned immediately.
It seems that many people think that tissues alone are not enough to clean them. How about using it as a reference when cleaning the game machine? ■ Related articles
