Tokyo Medical and Health University (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President: Tetsuo Tamura, President: Shuji Kameyama,
hereinafter referred to as this university), which is operated by the educational corporation Aoba Gakuen, is co-sponsored with Meguro Ward and holds an open lecture “Mental Health for Children and
Adolescents.” ~Thinking together about “facing children”~” will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in mental health and development in children and adolescents. Along with this, it is important to deepen the understanding of how to respond and interact with the people around them when a crisis actually occurs to the mental health of children.
So this time, we prepared the following contents.
■ Characteristics of children and adolescents
(mental growth and development)
■ Risks that can occur in children and adolescents (specific diseases: developmental disorders, eating disorders, adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, etc.) and
How to deal with it and how to get involved
■ Thinking together about facing children and adolescents
Through this course, after understanding these current situations, we will provide tips on how to deal with children, how to interact with them, and how to deal with them at home and in the educational setting. Our university will continue to contribute to the development of the region and the resolution of issues through community-based social contribution activities.

■Target: Guardians, grandparents, and educators with children from elementary school to high school
Capacity: 100 people (30 people face-to-face only, 100 people online only, up to 30 people face-to-face and 70 people online if both face-to-face and online at the same time)

Utilizing my clinical experience as a nurse in a child and adolescent psychiatric ward, I am engaged in research and activities related to improving mental health of children and adolescents and solving and preventing problems.
