[“Shakugan no Shana” 20th Anniversary] Ukiyo-e woodblock prints using newly drawn illustrations of “Shana” in kimono will be released and made into figures!
From KADOKAWA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Tsuyoshi Natsuno, hereinafter referred to as KADOKAWA), the original illustrator of Dengeki Bunko’s popular novel “Shakugan no Shana” (author: Yashichiro Takahashi), which celebrated its 20th anniversary. An ukiyo-e woodblock print using a newly drawn illustration of Shana in a glossy Japanese dress by Mr. Noidi Ito will be available for pre-order from December 1, 2022 (Thursday), with a limited number of 100 first editions. It will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis at Dengekiya, which has been transferred to the Kadokawa store. In addition, we are planning to make a figure using a newly drawn illustration! A follow-up report is scheduled for late February 2023. Don’t miss it!

The illustrations are drawn by Mr. Noizi Ito, who worked on the illustrations for the original novel.
The engraving of the ukiyo-e was done by Ms. Saeko Nagai, a
traditional craftsman who received an award from the government for her achievements. Mr. Masato is working on it, and all of the ukiyo-e production processes are done by hand, and traditional techniques are scattered everywhere.

[Sculptor] Saeko Nagai
Agency for Cultural Affairs Selected Intangible Cultural Property Preservation Technique Certified Craftsman / Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Certified Edo Woodblock Print Traditional Craftsman Born in Sumida Ward in 1983 (Showa 58). Graduated from Kyoto College of Traditional Arts.
In 2010, he became an apprentice as an ukiyo-e woodblock print engraver under the Arakawa-ku traditional craft technology successor training project, and became independent after training for six years. Involved in the production of contemporary ukiyo-e prints such as “Star Wars” and the Japanese anime Naruto, as well as reprints of works by Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Hasui Kawase.
January 2013 Performed carving at the Tokyo Traditional Crafts Exhibition at Shinjuku Takashimaya.
November 2013 Demonstration of carving at the National Victoria and Albert Museum, UK.

From “Shakugan no Shana”, which celebrated its 20th anniversary since the publication of the original Dengeki Kou, the heroine Shana has been turned into a three-dimensional figure wearing a manjushage kimono!
A dignified figure is currently being planned with an illustration drawn by Noidi Ito as a motif! “We’re working hard on this, so don’t miss the follow-up report!”
