EDEN PRIRIE, Minn. & REHOVOT, Israel–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS) today announced 13 Validated materials for its Fortus(R) 450mc printer and SAF technology. ALM, a materials partner for the H350(R) printer, is pleased to announce the availability of SAF(TM) PA12 powder.

13 New FDM Validated Materials
Stratasys has partnered with material suppliers Covestro, Kimya and Victrex plc to make Stratasys Validated materials available for Stratasys FDM(R) printers, including the Fortus(R) 450mc. Stratasys Validated materials, which have undergone basic reliability testing, further expand the material options available on the market. The following FDM materials are available for order now and are expected to ship by early 2023.
VICTREX AM(TM) 200: A high-strength, semi-crystalline PAEK filament specially formulated for manufacturing end-use parts in demanding industries such as oil & gas and aerospace.
Covestro Addigy(R) PA6/66-GF20 FR LS: Fire retardant glass fiber composite material that meets EN45545 requirements for railway applications. Material strength and stiffness are similar to Nylon12CF.
Kimya PC-FR: A flame retardant polycarbonate material that meets EN45545 requirements for railway applications and is specifically designed for low volume production and end-use parts including replacement parts.
FDM HIPS: Affordable high impact polystyrene based material for low requirement applications.
In addition, some existing materials are now available in color as Validated materials.
[ULTEM(TM) 9085] Red, Dream Gray, White, Jana White, Gunship Gray, Aircraft Gray: By providing multiple colors for flame-retardant, high-performance thermoplastics, interiors of aircraft and railway vehicles, etc. More applications for parts in end-use applications where aesthetics are important.
[PC] Red, Black: Polycarbonate filament with excellent heat resistance and durability, suitable for functional prototyping and tooling applications.
[PCS-ABS] Red: The blend of polycarbonate and ABS polymer achieves both heat resistance and bending strength, and can be used for various prototypes and final product parts.
Access to third-party open materials for Fortus 450mc
Stratasys also continues to expand the use cases offered by the Fortus 450mc 3D printer, giving customers access to third-party open materials through the annual OpenAM materials license provided to Origin(R) One customers earlier this year. Stratasys Selects ALM as Supplier of PA12 Powder
Stratasys announced that it has selected Advanced Laser Materials (ALM) as its first source of SAF PA12 material for its H350 3D printer. PA12, also known as Nylon 12, is the most popular material for industrial 3D printing, providing geometric accuracy, chemical resistance, and stiffness for mechanical parts, telecom industry applications, and prototyping.
Powder bed additive manufacturing systems place special requirements on materials to support production applications, and ALM specializes in engineering, testing and manufacturing of high quality polymer materials. “Stratasys’ focus on productivity, material quality and process repeatability are key value drivers for the H350 printer.
