Held only from Thursday, December 1, 2022 to Monday, February 28, 2023 Houei Sakeya (Gokokuji, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) will hold a traditional Chinese cuisine “Yangzhou Cuisine Course” for three months from December 1, 2022 (Thursday) to February 28, 2023 (Monday).
Houei Shuya, which opened in Gokokuji, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo in August 2021, is a new Chinese restaurant that develops Chinese cuisine with free ideas, including the four major Chinese cuisines (Shanghai, Cantonese, Beijing, and Sichuan). Serving Yangzhou Cuisine.

Yangzhou is located in Jiangsu Province, China, and is a city blessed with water transport, with the Huaihe River in the north, the Yangtze River in the south, and the World Heritage Grand Canal in the middle. For this reason, Yangzhou cuisine is characterized by its gentle taste that brings out the original taste of the ingredients using seafood and agricultural products, and its light seasoning, which is light and popular among Japanese people. The representative dish is “Yangzhou fried rice” which is similar to Japanese fried rice. In addition, “Shishigashira”, a giant meatball made with pork and steamed in soup, is famous.

1972 Born in Yangzhou, China
Father, grandfather and cook. Since I was a child, I watched my father cook, and I naturally followed the path of cooking.
After working at a Chinese restaurant in Yangzhou from the ages of 18 to 32, he came to Japan in 2005 at the age of 33, partly because his uncle was working in Nagoya.
After honing his skills at a Chinese restaurant in Nagoya for a year and a half, he trained at a high-end Chinese restaurant in Ginza. For 11 years, he served as executive chef at two high-end Chinese restaurants in Ginza, where he was expected to have a serious personality and skill.
I love cooking regardless of genre, and I am devoted to research every day. He even cooks for his family on holidays.
