Flower Communications Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Naotaka Yanagawa), Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. (Headquarters: Sapporo, Hokkaido, President and CEO: Yutaka Fujii), Tokyu Land Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo) Ward, President: Masashi Okada) (hereinafter collectively referred to as the three companies) will commercialize a data center operated with 100% renewable energy (hereinafter, renewable energy) in Ishikari City, Hokkaido (hereinafter, this project). We are pleased to inform you that we have concluded a basic agreement (hereinafter referred to as this agreement).

Ishikari City, which will host a renewable energy data center this time, has been selected as one of the “Decarbonization Leading Areas (1st Round)” for which the Ministry of the Environment has made an open call for the realization of carbon neutrality in 2050. In addition, Ishikari City will formulate measures for zero carbon, “Redesign the area with local production of renewable energy and decarbonization”, and supply renewable energy to the data center group and surrounding facilities in the Ishikari Bay New Port area. By doing so, we are aiming for industrial agglomeration.
This project aims to create a sustainable value co-creation platform for well-being for all people and organizations involved in the business through a data center business that supports decarbonization toward the realization of a sustainable global environment in the region. It is a data center-in-data center *2 that aims to contribute to the realization of society *1. The Ishikari Renewable Energy Data Center No. 1 LLC established by Flower Communications Co., Ltd. is the main developer and operator, and is aiming to open in 2026.

● Creation of an ecosystem that forms a city-wide value chain centered on a renewable energy data center (creation of a business model) In addition, on June 27, 2022, this project was the only one in Hokkaido to be indirectly subsidized by the Digital Infrastructure Development Fund in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and
Communications’ “Digital infrastructure resilience project through regional distribution of data centers, submarine cables, etc.” I’m here.
The three companies are working together to realize the zero-carbon measures promoted by Ishikari City and to build a sustainable society through decarbonization. , Tokyu Land Corporation will work on this business while using the knowledge cultivated so far in each company’s business such as real estate development and renewable energy development.
