ARTBAY ILLUMINATION 2022 MIRRORBOWLER “Light Triangle” December 1st (Thursday) to December 25th (Sunday)
Three gorgeous works of art appear in the waterfront subcenter
In the project “ARTBAY TOKYO”, which connects people and places with various arts in the waterfront subcenter, art illumination by the installation art group “Mirror Baller” will be held from December 1st (Thursday) to December 25th, 2022. We would like to inform you that it will be held on (Sunday).
■ Based on the concept of “Liberation and Harmony”
Three gorgeous works of art by “Mirror Baller” will create a “triangle of light” in the Tokyo Waterfront City. Based on the concept of “Liberation and Harmony,” we expressed how people’s thoughts are liberated and the city, people, and works of the waterfront subcenter are connected and harmonized. Take advantage of the characteristics of each area and enjoy the fantastic space woven by works of light that emit different brilliance.
■ Artist profile
M I R R O R B O W L E R (Mirror Baller) An installation art group that creates spatial works of light and reflection. It consists of a wide variety of members, including graphic designers, photographers, lighting engineers, blacksmiths, and plant artists. Envelop the space with light filled with the feelings of love and joy, cherish the Japanese culture and nature, and cherish the inspiration you get from it. I aim to create works. We are developing a wide range of activities such as various light events, illuminations, rock festivals, and music video productions.
Exhibition period: Thursday, December 1, 2022 to Sunday, December 25, 2022 1. Square of stone and light
We encounter various sights in our daily life. A familiar light or a light you see for the first time. Find darkness in light and discover new light by staring at that darkness. Standing in the center of the flickering light is the “Nozoki Karakuri” that shines the present. 【access】
A 3-minute walk in the direction of Tokyo Big Sight from Rinkai Line “Kokusai Tenjijo” Station or Yurikamome Line “Ariake” Station 2. Central Plaza
A tree of light towering within a glittering palace of light. The organic curve of light that emerges beyond it expresses the
fluctuations of space-time. Also, it resembles the fluctuation of the surface of the water. Please enjoy the mysterious world of light reflected and refracted by metal.
A 6-minute walk in the direction of DiverCity Tokyo from Rinkai Line “Tokyo Teleport” Station or Yurikamome Line “Daiba” Station
3. Taki no Hiroba
The dragon is a symbol of the great power that flows through nature. The lotus grows out of the mud and blooms into a beautiful, clean flower. A lotus pond protected by a dragon represents the beautiful heart of the Japanese people, who have a sense of awe and reverence for nature. The modern urban landscape of the Tokyo waterfront subcenter and the mythology of nature are fused together, shining a light into the future.
