Summary of the work: A long-term follow-up to the challenge of 18-year-old Aoi Kondo, who aims to be the best in Japan in “Ampty Soccer,” a sport for people with disabilities called “one-legged soccer.” He lost his left leg in a car accident when he was in the 6th grade of elementary school, but in order to continue playing soccer, which he loves, he overcame the difficult rehabilitation process and became an Amputee soccer player. Aiming to be the best in Japan, Kondo faces the national tournament for the first time in three years, but there is an unexpected accident… Will dreams come true? I followed the figure that continues to challenge single-mindedly.

Winner: Comment from Taisuke Mori (TV Osaka News Sports Bureau Sports Department)
“I want many people to know about Amputee Soccer.”
I started interviewing in 2019 after hearing these words from Aoi Kondo. About 100 people play Amputee soccer, and it is not even a Paralympic sport. Even so, the passion for sports that changed my life did not change, and I was deeply touched by the smiles that genuinely enjoyed playing soccer from the bottom of my heart.
Aoi’s dream is to gather 50,000 spectators to play at Yanmar Stadium Nagai. I hope that this award will help spread the appeal of Amputee Soccer to as many people as possible, and bring Aoi closer to his dream. Details about this release:
