For the fourth consecutive year, Yamaha Corporation received the highest rank of “Gold” in the “PRIDE Index *2 2022,” an evaluation index for initiatives related to sexual minorities such as LGBTQ+ *1 in companies and organizations formulated by the voluntary
organization “work with Pride.” I received the award.
The Yamaha Group considers the diversity of its human resources to be the source of new value creation, and aims to further strengthen, grow, and develop its corporate competitiveness by respecting and utilizing the individuality of each individual.
As part of this, we are promoting understanding and support for LGBTQ+ in order to create an environment where sexual minorities can work comfortably and to conduct corporate activities that respect diversity. So far, we have worked to promote understanding within the company by establishing a logo and distributing stickers that express LGBTQ+ Allies (supporters), and creating tools to promote
understanding in the workplace. In terms of the system, we have been improving the framework, such as including same-sex partners in the definition of family.
This fiscal year, in June, which is PRIDE month, when activities and events to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ rights are held around the world, we will publish our statement on our corporate website, as well as interviews and music featuring LGBTQ+ artists. We released content such as videos and worked on activities to further improve the empowerment of sexual minorities.
We will continue to work to promote DE&I, including a greater understanding of LGBTQ+, and strive to create a corporate culture that makes the most of the individuality of each and every one of our diverse human resources.
