As efforts to combat global warming are drawing attention worldwide, the Japan Post Group has set a goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050 in its medium-term management plan, JP Vision 2025. We are working on it. As one of these efforts, we are promoting the introduction of EV vehicles (electric vehicles) for collection and delivery vehicles, but it is necessary to consider the local power supply and demand when charging the EV vehicles that will be required. We sought.
In order to solve this problem, Yanekara’s product “YaneCube” is used to avoid charging the post office’s collection and delivery EV vehicles during times of high power demand in the region, and to reduce the cost of power charges. It was conducted.
As a result of the demonstration, it was confirmed that the peak power consumption at the Harumi Post Office was cut by an estimated 38 kW compared to the power consumption pattern in 2021. As a result, the station’s annual electricity bill reduction forecast is about 450,000 yen.
In addition, we were able to confirm charging during times of low power usage in the Tokyo area by avoiding times of high power usage through charging control. It was also confirmed that charging control was possible without any problems.
 Yanekara aims to be a “supply and demand adjustment platform that supports the introduction of renewable energy and EV in the region”, and in the future, we will consider horizontal expansion with Japan Post based on the results of this demonstration experiment.

(2) “YaneCube” automatically controls the peak power consumption of the entire post office and the charging of EV vehicles so that they do not overlap. Accumulate time-series data on the amount of charging power for each EV vehicle in the cloud for quantitative evaluation. *The charging of EV vehicles, which normally starts all at once after work in the evening, will be shifted to the nighttime period when power consumption is low.
