Yumemiru Co., Ltd. (Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, CEO: Akinori Shigemi) has franchised 100 classrooms nationwide. Manavity Sakura Kids International) junior high school team won 4th place and won double prizes in the ROBOMISSION Junior Division of the WRO 2022 International Tournament (held in Dortmund, Germany)!
At the “WRO 2022 German International Tournament” held for three days from November 17th (Thursday) to 19th (Saturday), 2022, two teams of junior high school students from Robodan participated as
representatives of Japan in the ROBOMISSION junior division, ranking 4th in the world. And won the double prize in the 7th place! It is the first time in Japan that a team from a private school won double prizes as a representative of Japan at the WRO International Competition!
The directly managed school robot club selection course “Au” passed 1st on the first day, and although it struggled on the 2nd day, it won 7th place! Nagakute School “Maizakura” got a perfect score from the 14th place on the first day to the 2nd day’s task, and finished 4th place and renewed the highest ranking ever in the WRO international competition participation from Robodan.
Also, in the Elementary Division (elementary school students), the directly managed school robot club selection course “Mynam” struggled on the first day, but did not give up until the end and showed a catch-up to 8th place on the second day of the competition, greatly increasing the rankings. I got the result of the 21th place in the final ranking.
Although they achieved good results on the world stage, they themselves had many regrets. However, I think that being able to prove that we can compete against the world’s top level in the international competition of WRO, one of the world’s largest robot contests, gave the children a lot of confidence. This frustrating feeling and self-confidence were obtained because I challenged myself.
The robot programming class “Robotan” will continue to do our best to provide an environment where children can challenge themselves.
