On December 18th (Sun), the Kanto teams of Tokyo International University (Kanto 2nd representative) and Toin Yokohama University (Kanto 4th representative) will face off. While Tokyo International University is higher in the ranking in the league match, Toin Yokohama University has two wins in two matches this season. Even in this match, which will be their third match, Toin Yokohama University wins 2-0 with Kawasaki Frontale’s unofficial goal, Arata Yamada’s goal in two consecutive games. On the other hand, the Tokai group, which has continued to make good progress so far, was unable to break the barrier of the best 8 and disappeared in the third round. Chukyo University (Tokai 3rd national team) will play against Niigata University of Health and Welfare (Hokushinetsu 1st national team). Burning in revenge against the opponent who lost in the second round of the Prime Minister’s Cup in the summer, Chukyo University scored the first goal in the first half, but conceded a goal in stoppage time in the second half. Even after extra time, the game was not settled, and Chukyo University went into a penalty shootout, which was the third time this tournament. Chukyo University has won the penalty shootout twice so far, but the third kicker failed and they were eliminated. Niigata Medical University couldn’t get revenge for the summer. On the other hand, Niigata University of Medical Science advanced to the top 4 for the first time. What is the All Japan University Soccer Championship (Intercollegiate)? Universities representing all nine regions of Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Hokushinetsu, Tokai, Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu clash in a knockout format to determine the winter champion and the best university in Japan.
