Be ecorecycle project started for the sustainable beauty brand “Be” Container collection started at the same time as Be Organic Marunouchi main store opened

Be Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Daisuke Inagaki) will open the transparency cosmetics shop “Be Organic Marunouchi Main Store” from December 14, 2022 (Wednesday). We will start a program (Be ecorecycle project) to collect used containers for some items of “Be”.
Collected containers are horizontally recycled to be reborn as bottles. Background of the recycling program
Climate change caused by global warming in recent decades has had various impacts on human life and natural ecosystems.
For example, summer in Japan is extremely hot. Tokyo currently has about 46 hot days, but it is said that by the end of the 21st century, there will be 103 hot days a year, or nearly 30% of the year, if no further measures are taken to combat global warming.
Approximately 60% of Japan’s CO2 emissions are attributable to lifestyles centered on food, clothing and shelter. (*)
If we can contribute to the reduction of CO2 by making a little effort every day and being aware of it in our daily lives.
Thinking about what Be can do now, we decided to start this container collection and recycling program.

We have been thinking about “what kind of impact it will have on the global environment” from the product manufacturing stage, including containers, to disposal.
Currently, 9 items in the skin care, hair and body care series use “mechanical recycled PET” using 100% recycled resin. This is a material that was adopted from the desire to respond to the global climate change crisis.
This time, we will start collecting containers for “Be Cleansing Oil”, “Be Shampoo”, “Be Treatment”, “Be Body Soap” and “Be Organic Hair Oil”. Collecting these containers reduces the CO2 generated when they are discarded and burned. After that, it will be reborn as a container to reduce waste and contribute to a sustainable society.
We will continue to strengthen our recycling system to help revitalize the future of the earth.

How to participate in the program
STEP 1. Shopping for Be products
STEP 2. Enjoy the product to the end (wash and dry the container) STEP 3. Take the container to the Be Organic store
STEP 4. Collect points that can be used for shopping for each target container! Please bring the target used container to the “Be Organic Marunouchi Main Store” store. Please use up all the contents, wash the container, and bring it in a dry state.
*Excluding cases where cleaning is difficult due to the shape of the container. * Only accessories such as caps and pumps can be collected, but please note that they are not counted as one empty container.

How it will be done in the future
In the future, we plan to expand the recycling program, such as establishing a container collection method that can be applied for online, collecting containers for other items, and collecting containers at stores that carry Be.
