CDP is one of the world’s leading ESG evaluation organizations that evaluates strategies for responding to climate change and efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of companies and cities around the world. Companies are evaluated by an independent method based on information such as the comprehensiveness of information disclosure, risk management, high goal setting, and leadership, and a score ranging from “A” to “D- (minus)” is given. The evaluation process also complies with the recommendations of the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures), a framework for information disclosure related to climate change. In 2022, more than 680 institutional investors with assets of more than US$130 trillion will request environmental information disclosure through CDP, and a record high of approximately 18,700 companies have responded. As a result, over 330 companies worldwide have been recognized by CDP as ‘A-list companies’ in the areas of climate change, forests and water security. DNP has been certified as an “A List Company” in the field of climate change. There are 74 Japanese companies on the “A List” in the field of climate change.

[About DNP’s efforts to combat climate change] *2
In 1972, DNP became the first company in the industry to establish an in-house department dedicated to the environment. In March 2020, we formulated the “DNP Group Environmental Vision 2050” and are accelerating activities aimed at realizing a “decarbonized society,” “recycling-based society,” and “a society in harmony with nature.” In particular, with the aim of realizing a decarbonized society, we aim to reduce GHG emissions associated with business activities at our own sites to virtually zero by 2050 and reduce the environmental impact through our products and services. We have already achieved a 30.3% reduction in fiscal 2020 against our medium-term target of reducing GHG emissions by 40% compared to fiscal 2015 by fiscal 2030. We believe that this certification is a comprehensive evaluation of these efforts.
Going forward, DNP will continue striving to create new value in order to achieve both the resolution of social issues and growth as a company, and to realize a better, more sustainable society and a richer lifestyle.
