Details of this partnership
As the movement towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 is gaining momentum, the disclosure and reduction of CO2 emissions has become an important management theme for all companies. This trend is gaining momentum in the form of TCFD compliance by prime-listed companies and requests for disclosure of emissions information in the supply chain, led by the automobile industry. In particular, the latter is becoming a trend regardless of industry or company size, and there is an increasing trend in cases, including small and medium-sized
enterprises, where companies are required to ascertain their own emissions and submit information.
In particular, SMEs, which account for 99.7% (*1) of domestic companies, are working to promote decarbonization without being left behind by the decarbonization trend. We believe that our role is very important (*2). Through this partnership, we will provide “e-dash” to Amagasaki Shinkin Bank’s business partners and support the
visualization of CO2 emissions as the first step in decarbonization efforts. In addition, we will aim to realize a decarbonized society together by running alongside our customers in the medium to long term, including support for the implementation of measures to reduce emissions in the future.
What is “e-dash”
“e-dash” is a service platform developed by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. that comprehensively supports efforts to reduce CO2 emissions (*3). As for the visualization of CO2 emissions, which is the first step toward decarbonization, simply uploading energy bills such as electricity and gas automatically and easily calculates CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and 2) through business. We provide a mechanism that can accumulate accurate data while reducing the time and effort of calculation. Supply chain emissions (Scope 3) can also be easily calculated and visualized using software.
Regarding the calculation of CO2 emissions in “e-dash”, a third-party verification by a major auditing firm is carried out, and we provide an accurate calculation method based on the calculation guidelines formulated by the Japanese government (*4) ).
In addition to the visualization of CO2 emissions, we also support the implementation of various measures to reduce CO2 emissions by utilizing Mitsui’s network.
