When we conducted a survey targeting men and women in their teens to 60s nationwide asking, “What do you consider important when choosing outdoor wear?” The result was 68.2%. This was followed by “ease of movement” at 60.6% and “designability” at 45.4%.

Next, looking at the results by gender, the results showed that the items that were emphasized changed in the same way for both men and women.
As a characteristic point, the response rate of men was higher for items related to “performance” such as comfort and ease of movement, and the response rate for items related to “appearance” such as design and color was higher for women.

Looking at the results by age group, the most important item for all age groups was “comfort (body temperature regulation),” but there were differences in the response rate for each item.
Looking at the top five items, the response rate for all items except design was highest for those in their 50s and 60s.
Outdoors are subject to sudden changes in temperature and weather. As people get older, more and more people have actually experienced sudden changes in nature, and as a result of being able to adapt to those changes, many people may place more importance on functionality when choosing clothing.

It can be seen that people living in cold regions such as Hokkaido and the Tohoku region emphasize performance and cost performance over design. Especially among Hokkaido residents, the response rate for “ease of movement” is higher than for “comfort,” suggesting that comfort in terms of temperature regulation is a major premise. On the other hand, in the Kanto and Kinki regions, about half of respondents said that “design” is also important, following comfort and ease of movement.
In recent years, more and more people are wearing outdoor wear for town use outside of the outdoor scene, so it can be said that the design is easy to match with everyday wear.
