Until now, private cars were the only means of transportation for visiting Katsuo-ji Temple during the New Year, and traffic jams could take up to four hours. Therefore, we focused on “Senri Chuo Station”, which is an Osaka Monorail station and is on the extension line from Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway (Osaka Metro). This is a measure to “relieve traffic congestion” on the Minoh Driveway, which takes up to four hours to reach Katsuo-ji Temple. This is a demonstration experiment to contribute to the development of the local economy, which leads to “revitalization”.
As a result of operating the shuttle bus during the fall foliage season as the first step in the fall of 2022, it was greatly effective in alleviating traffic congestion on the Minoh Driveway, so we believe that we can expect a great effect this time as well.

■ About Katsuoji Temple
Katsuo-ji Temple dates back to the late Nara period, and according to Koryu-ki, it was founded in the 4th year of the Kamikaze era (727) when the twin brothers Zennaka and Zensan set up a thatched hut and trained there. The 6th head of the temple, Gyokjun Shonin, prayed for Emperor Seiwa’s repose of his body and was effective. However, at the main temple, the “King” is replaced by the “tail”, and it is called Katsuo-ji Temple, and has been worshiped as a temple of good luck. Later, the character for king was added to the tail, and since then it has been called ‘Katsuo-ji’.
Since then, it is said that the Genji, Ashikaga, and Toyotomi clan prayed for victory, and the belief in victory spread. Even today, many worshipers visit the shrine to pray for “winning luck” in all kinds of situations, such as exams, business, employment, and sports. Details about this release:
