On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, the 50th volume of Chihayafuru will finally be released. After 15 years since the serialization started in 2007, Chihaya’s story has come to an end. In commemoration of this, a special project will begin!

On December 13th (Tuesday), the release date of the final volume, we will post a completion commemorative advertisement in the morning edition of the Asahi Shimbun! ★ “Chihayafuru” story
Chihaya is a 6th grade elementary school student who doesn’t even know the word “passion” yet. She then meets Arata, a transfer student from Fukui. Arata was quiet and taciturn, but he had an unexpected talent. It is Ogura Hyakunin Isshu Karuta. Chihaya is shocked to see Arata paying bills faster and more enthusiastically than anyone else. However, it was Chihaya’s outstanding “talent” that nailed such Arata… A youth story that intersects with dazzlingly single-minded thoughts.
★ Profile of Yuki Suetsugu
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. In 1992, he received an honorable mention at the 14th Nakayoshi Rookie Manga Award for “Romance of the Sun”, which was published in “Nakayoshi Special Edition” (Kodansha) and made his debut. In 2007, he began serializing “Chihayafuru” in “BE・LOVE” (Kodansha). In 2009, the same work won the 2nd Manga Award 2009, and won first place in “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2010” (Takarajimasha) for women. In 2011, Chihayafuru won the 35th Kodansha Manga Award for girls. The cumulative total of the series has exceeded 28 million copies (as of December 2022).

Game 5, final phase. Chihaya and Arata have not been beaten, but the two of them overtake the 94th read “Tago”, and the game tangles into a fateful battle. As if led by a mysterious fate, leaving the same card for both the Meijin match and the Queen match――!
