Laboro.AI appoints Japanese flagship capital Toshihiro Iwasaki as outside director
Laboro.AI Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that Mr. Toshihiro Iwasaki, Representative Director of Japan Flagship Capital Co., Ltd., was appointed as an outside director on December 19, 2022 to strengthen the management system and improve corporate value.

Laboro.AI Co., Ltd. (Laboro AI, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, CEO Tetsuo Shiibashi, CEO and COO and CTO Hiromasa Fujiwara), which develops and provides customized AI and artificial intelligence solutions “Custom AI” and develops consulting business. (hereinafter referred to as “our company”) is pleased to announce that Mr. Toshihiro Iwasaki, Representative Director of Japan Flagship Capital Co., Ltd., has been appointed as an outside director on December 19, 2022, in order to strengthen the management system and improve corporate value. Mr. Iwasaki joined Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. (now Nomura Holdings Co., Ltd.) after graduating from Keio University. After serving as an executive officer at the company, he was engaged in executive duties such as CEO at multiple subsidiaries such as Nomura Trust and Banking Co., Ltd., Nomura Asset Management Co., Ltd., Nomura Institute of Capital Markets Research, and Shanghai Nomura Lujiazui Asset Management Co., Ltd. In addition, he served as Vice President of Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. and became an advisor to the company. Currently, in 2020, he established a private equity fund, Japan Flagship Capital Co., Ltd., and has served as a representative director.
He has worked for many years as an executive at the Nomura Group, the largest securities company in Japan, and has excellent experience and knowledge as a corporate management professional, including corporate governance, organizational management, and business promotion. Currently, through the private equity investment business of Japan’s flagship capital company, we are promoting the management support of domestic companies that are expected to play an active role globally, and are making efforts to improve the competitiveness of Japanese industries.
This appointment was agreed upon due to the match between Mr. Kobayashi’s passion for domestic industry, who possesses such outstanding management know-how, and our company’s desire to create innovation in each industry centered on AI technology. We will not only strengthen our management system and governance system by receiving advice based on his excellent management know-how, but we will also realize a more solid business operation through his participation, which will lead to “new growth in all industries.” We will further pursue our mission of “creating new forms” and

“In comparison to the rest of the world, the sense of stagnation in Japan is severe. There are many issues to be addressed, such as improving earning power and productivity.・Japan’s perception of AI is inferior to the rest of the world.
There are many ways to solve problems, but we believe that there are very few people who can execute everything at a high level, whether it is IT/AI technology or business solutions. Traditionally, I have believed that it is important to start by organically combining human resources who are in charge of overall IT solutions and human resources who can deal with individual issues and technologies. When I first talked with CEO Shiibashi, the service concept of customizing recognition and prediction through machine learning and connecting it to business development was close to what I had before, and I got exactly the right idea for the future. I felt that I could help, and decided to accept the position of outside director. My career is not tech. We hope to be of service to you in terms of the management and practice of securities, asset management, and trust banks. Thank you. ”
