In 2022, two elementary schools with a history of 150 years will close in Tokushima Prefecture. Finally, it was decided to hold a sports exchange by connecting the two schools online.
January 30, 2023 (Monday) 10:45-11:30 NPO expanding activities in depopulated areas nationwide at Kamiura Elementary School in Yoshinogawa City, Tokushima Prefecture and Hiratani Elementary School in Naka Town, which will be closed in 2022 A sports tour network will connect the two schools online to conduct a sports exchange project. In Tokushima Prefecture, the declining birthrate continues, and schools continue to be closed once every few years.
It has been decided that Kamiura Elementary School in Yoshinogawa City and Hiratani Elementary School in Naka Town will be closed in 2022 as well.
Each elementary school has held numerous events to create memories for children. Among them, the NPO Sports Travel Network, which conducts online sports exchanges at micro-sized elementary schools, has decided to conduct online sports exchanges as a way to create memories between the two schools.

In the next fiscal year, 2023, it has been decided that Ota Elementary School in Tsurugi Town will be closed in Tokushima Prefecture. We are planning exchanges between Ota Elementary School and elementary schools outside the prefecture that may be closed.
