◆Overview
The National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita Ward, Okayama City; President: Hiroshi Makino) Okayama University Library and National Institute of Japanese Literature will exchange some of the classic books (books before the Edo period) owned by the Okayama University Library. Baya Monogatari, costume picture books, etc.) were digitized in high definition and released on November 28, 2022.
It can be viewed from the National Institute of Japanese Literature’s “New Japanese Classical Books Comprehensive Database”, so please make use of it.
〇 What is “Ikeda Family Library”?
Approximately 240 years of Bizen domain administration data and Marquis Ikeda succession, from the first Okayama domain lord, Mitsumasa Ikeda (Shintaro), who moved from Tottori to Okayama Castle in 1632, until the establishment of prefectures in 1871 (Meiji 4). This is the collective term for 68,083 domain documents, 4,166 Japanese books (22,117 items), and 653 Chinese books (10,420 volumes).
