◆Overview
On November 16, 2022, the Green Innovation Center of National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City, President: Hiroshi Makino) co-sponsored with the Japan CLT Association to hold a “recurrent course for those who want to learn CLT”. has been held.
The course was held from before 9:00 am until after 5:00 pm with a lunch break in the middle, and was attended by 30 people, mainly construction workers.
At the beginning, Mr. Makoto Kawai, Advisor of the Japan CLT Association, gave a lecture titled “Introduction to CLT” on the history of CLT development and recent examples of construction in Japan and overseas. Associate Professor Atsushi talked about the possibilities of wood in architectural design, Professor Noboru Nakamura said about wooden architecture and CLT (materials), and Associate Professor Koji Fukumoto said about wooden architecture and CLT (structure). I gave a lecture on the subject.

After that, Yasuaki Seo of Shimizu Corporation Hiroshima Branch Okayama Sales Office, who is the builder of the “Co-Education Co-Creation Commons,” a wooden building that is currently under construction on campus using CLT, explained and toured actual examples. Mr. and Mr. Teruna Masamichi explained the intention of the design and the ingenuity in using CLT.
In the questionnaire conducted after the workshop, the participants commented that they were able to learn practically useful information such as the properties of CLT as a material, and that they were able to obtain the latest knowledge of the CLT construction method. rice field.
The Okayama University Green Innovation Center will continue to hold similar seminars for working adults on a regular basis.
