◆Overview
At the Faculty of Agriculture of the National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City; President: Hiroshi Makino), students of the Faculty of Agriculture are the main participants in the “Faculty of Agriculture Harvest Festival.” The “Faculty of Agriculture Fair” was held on November 19th and 20th, 2022 in and around the Faculty of Agriculture Building I on the Tsushima Campus of Okayama University.
For the first time in three years since 2019, we were able to revive the harvest festival by welcoming people from outside the university into the campus. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to the participants as we took measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. I was able to.
The 46th Harvest Festival was also aimed at interacting with local people.This year, we held a harvest experience (digging sweet potatoes), an experience interacting with baby goats, and a simulated milking experience.
In addition, about 10 tents were prepared for selling agricultural products (rice, vegetables, fruits, flowers), mainly in the applied plant science course laboratories and field centers. Okayama University Co-op also sold Okayama University goods in addition to Japanese sake, plum wine, jelly, etc. using products from the field center.
　Blessed with good weather on both days, nearly 1,000 people attended, and each project was a great success. Regarding the sales of agricultural products, all the tents were sold out early, and some of the visitors expressed their disappointment. On the other hand, regarding stage planning, bingo games, agricultural product quizzes, and concerts were held in front of the front entrance of Building No. 1, and the bright and cheerful voices of visitors with their families resounded.

At the Faculty of Agriculture Fair, posters created by each research unit and insect specimens from the environmental ecology course will be on display, giving not only students of the Faculty of Agriculture but also visitors from outside the Faculty of Agriculture a chance to learn about the education and research of the Faculty of Agriculture. is ready.
This year, more than 70 parents participated in the “Parental Opinion Exchange Meeting,” which has continued even during the last two years of the corona crisis. However, I was able to understand that the education and research of the Faculty of Agriculture are being carried out firmly.
