Riot Games announces year-end charity voting campaign
Based on player votes, $6 million in donations to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund will be distributed to 84 charities based in 28 regions
Riot Games, Inc. (U.S.) Japanese subsidiary Riot Games LLC (Roppongi, Minato-ku, President/CEO Yasushi Fujimoto) announced today that it will hold a charity voting campaign.
The campaign allows players around the world to vote on which non-profits they should support in particular. In collaboration with regional Riot offices and GlobalGiving, the Riot Games Social Impact Fund has pre-selected 84 nonprofits based in 28 regions. All of them are organizations that we believe are leading high-impact and meaningful activities. Over $6 million has been raised through various in-game campaigns to date, with donation pools allocated to each region based on participation in those campaigns.

Voting will be held on the special site from December 13th to December 22nd. You can check the activities of each non-profit organization on this site and choose the organization you want to support. After the voting period ends, the group with the highest percentage of votes in each region will receive 50% of the donation pool for that region, and the other two groups will each receive 25%. Each organization is guaranteed to receive a minimum of $10,000 (USD).
Comment from Jimmy Hahn, Senior Manager, Social Impact, Riot Games Every year, Riot players surprise us with how supportive they are in donating to the Social Impact Fund and in-game fundraising. And this year was no exception. We believe that it is very important for players themselves to create a system that allows them to change their own society. In that sense, I think this charity voting campaign will be a meaningful opportunity for players to express their own issues and philanthropic activities that are important to them. Riot Games is powered by you, the best players in the world. I can’t wait to see which group will be selected!
