Notice regarding conclusion of basic contract for business alliance with Tay Two Co., Ltd.
～ Security camera system solution using AI (artificial intelligence) ～
System Kay Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sapporo, Hokkaido; Representative Director Kodai Narumi; hereinafter referred to as “SYK”), the core company of the Sakusa Group’s solution business, sells second-hand and new trading cards, games, books, etc. (Headquarters: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, President: Katsuji Fujiwara, hereinafter referred to as “Tay Two”), which is engaged in this business, has concluded a basic business alliance agreement, so we will inform you as follows. 1. Background and purpose of the business alliance
SYK is engaged in solution business and system development utilizing network cameras and NVRs (network video recorders), and utilizes technologies such as video, AI, and IoT to promote the resolution of various issues. In particular, by building an IT system that incorporates AI image recognition, we can achieve a wide range of customer goals, such as “face recognition/person detection,” “vehicle recognition/vehicle detection,” “object detection,” and “special character recognition.” We are supporting you. SYK aims to solve TAYTWO’s problems by utilizing the above-mentioned proprietary technologies, and aims for further business growth by positioning the retail distribution industry as one of its focus markets.
In the reuse business, which is Tay Two’s business domain, one of the challenges in operating a physical store is crime prevention activities against theft (shoplifting). In the past, security cameras have been installed in stores to record the inside of the store, and if a suspicious person is found, they are monitored visually and using security camera footage. As a result, there is a need for more effective and efficient problem-solving methods.
The two companies have jointly developed a trading card reader and assessment machine “TAYS” in the reuse BtoB area, and have jointly filed a patent application for an invention related to the invention that uses AI (artificial intelligence), which is a feature of the function. In the future, we will jointly develop a security camera system to solve the above problems, and have concluded this business alliance basic agreement for the purpose of further business expansion of both companies.
2. Details of the business alliance
First, SYK’s security camera system will be installed using a specific Tay Two store, and a demonstration experiment for a new security camera system will be conducted.
Next, we will expand the field of demonstration experiments to multiple directly managed stores and explore means to solve the technical and operational issues that have become apparent at the above stores.
After that, if it is determined that it can withstand practical use, we will gradually introduce it to all directly managed stores to reduce the burden on store operations and reduce shoplifting losses. In the future, we are considering selling this security camera system solution externally as one of the products in the reuse BtoB area. 3. Overview of Tay Two
