This time, on Saturday, January 14, 2023, we have invited Susan Meiselas, one of America’s leading documentary photographers, to hold the event.
On the day of the event, we will connect online with Susan Meiselas in New York, and while introducing her work from the 1970s to the present, we will talk about her philosophy as a photographer. He will also talk about the world situation that is changing day by day, and the future prospects of the society that is greatly affected. Susan Meiselas is a New York-based documentary photographer and current chairman of Magnum Photos. Major publications include Carnival Strippers (1976), Nicaragua (1981), Kurdistan: In the Shadow of History (1997), Pandora’s Box (2001), Encounters with the Dani (2003) Prince Street Girls (2016), A Room Of Their Own (2017) and, Tar Beach (2020).
Meiselas’ document on human rights in South America is well-known, and photographs taken in various regions, including North America, have been collected internationally. She was made a MacArthur Fellow in 1992, received the Guggenheim Fellowship (2015), and most recently received the Deutsche Beelse Photo Foundation Award (2019) and the 1st Women in Motion Award by Kering and Rencontres d’Arles. Mediations, which presents her work from the 1970s to the present, has recently been exhibited at the Antoni Tapies Foundation, the Jeu de Paume, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Moreira Salles Institute in São Paulo, and is currently at the Vienna House of the Arts. is held at Since 2007, he has been chairman of Magnum, contributing to the expansion of diversity and creativity in documentary photography.
