introduction platform for nurses, was selected by the Toyota Mobility Foundation.
The nurse platform chokowa operated by Cone Xi Co., Ltd. (head office: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture; CEO: Daichi Takagi; hereinafter referred to as “our company”) is a nurse matching mobility platform that fulfills the mobility needs of people with disabilities. We have been selected as a finalist for the Toyota Mobility Foundation (Phase 2) under the theme of “Support Project”. From January 2023, we will start the demonstration experiment of this project and business. ■ Background of this matter
Our company develops and operates a platform “chokowa” that matches medical and nursing care facilities that are suffering from a shortage of human resources and education with nurses who have specialties. In June 2022, an idea contest of the Toyota Mobility Foundation (Phase 1) will be held under the theme of “Nurse matching movement support project to meet the mobility needs of people with disabilities” as a movement support project for home care patients using this platform. It was adopted for the “Make a Move PROJECT”
(https://mobility-contest.jp/), and in October 2022, a demonstration experiment was conducted to support movement to the super endurance race venue.
■ Demonstration results and review
In the demonstration experiment in October 2022, the poor physical condition and excretion problems of the participants were improved by the care of the nurses, and the need to support going out with the nurses was demonstrated.
Furthermore, by confirming that going out and enjoying hobbies leads to an improvement in the QOL (quality of life) of not only the individual but also the family, it is also effective as a family respite function (rest for caregivers). Confirmed.
It can be said that if this service becomes widespread, it will be possible for visually impaired people, those who use wheelchairs, and those with a high degree of nursing care to go out and watch motor sports outdoors.
From the perspective of the realization of a sustainable society, it is thought that transportation support with a nurse on board will contribute to the realization of a city where everyone can move with peace of mind. (This is a project that contributes to Goal 11 of the SDGs, “Creating sustainable communities.”)
