Sunstella Co., Ltd. released Polymaker’s filament [PolyLite (TM) LW-PLA]. [PolyLite(TM) LW-PLA] is a low-density PLA that uses foam material. (0.8g/cm3 versus 1.17g/cm3 for regular PLA).
Compared to conventional PLA, it is possible to produce lightweight objects. After molding, traces of lamination are less noticeable, and both ease of molding and strength of PLA are achieved.
Sunstella Co., Ltd. released Polymaker’s filament [PolyLite (TM) LW-PLA]. [PolyLite(TM) LW-PLA] is a low-density PLA that uses foam material. It is 0.8g/cm3 compared to 1.17g/cm3 for normal PLA, making it possible to manufacture lighter objects compared to conventional PLA. After molding, traces of lamination are less noticeable, and both ease of molding and strength of PLA are achieved.
As a lightweight material, it can be used for airplane models, etc., and its characteristic matte texture harmonizes with interiors, bringing a variety of possibilities. It also has high rigidity and excellent interlayer adhesion.
All PolyLite LW-PLA is made from Ingeo3D850 PLA, which is a
plant-derived and environmentally friendly plastic material for 3D printing.
The lineup will be released in three colors [black / gray / wood tone] in December 2022, and additional colors are scheduled to be released in the future.
