[Lecturer Career]
After working as an assistant at the Faculty of Science and
Engineering, Waseda University, entered the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, Ministry of International Trade and Industry. In 2001, it was reorganized into the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. Currently, Environmental Creation Research Division/Deputy Director of the same research institute. During this time, in 2014, he established the SURE Consortium (Strategic Urban Mining Research Base) and assumed the position of chairman. Currently 95 organizations are members.
[Activities]
Engaged in research on physical sorting technology (sorting solid particles) in natural mines and recycling. Commercialization of proprietary equipment, conceptual design of recycling sorting system, technical consulting from the private sector, launching of national projects, etc. Especially since 2006, when the development of rare metal recycling technology has become active, we have implemented 14 patent practical applications, 104 commissioned/joint research cases, and more than 300 technical consultations (until FY2020).
In addition, we host the SURE Academy for mid-career researchers at national research institutes, universities, and companies with the aim of nurturing leaders for the development of future physical sorting technology.
