In this project, students (volunteers) from the Faculty of Social Co-Creation at Ehime University were involved as student monitors. Three fieldwork sessions and a one-night, two-day monitor tour will be held from December 10th (Sat) to 11th (Sun). From the perspective of university students, we explored how to enjoy and enjoy geoparks. [Image 1d115538-1-463792bf93fe31d04361-0.png&s3=115538-1-eb0ed20b20edb99abac91c5443a6b3b3-960x502.png
Through fieldwork, students will be able to input information about the spots they visit at the museum and then actually go see the geo resources, listen to episodes with real experiences from local guides, and learn about the products of Seiyo City. I realized the richness and history of the land by tasting the food of the region. We will share these realizations with the local people at the local debriefing session, and aim to create opportunities to reaffirm the importance of “Geo x Tourism” and the integration of geo resources into people’s lives and cultures.

What is Shikoku Seiyo Geopark?
A geopark is a “park of the earth” where you can learn about the origins of the earth and feel the diverse nature and ecosystems that have been nurtured there, as well as the lives of people.
Seiyo City, Ehime Prefecture boasts an altitude difference of 1,400m between the coastal area and the mountainous area, and you can observe a variety of ecosystems. In addition, the topography created by the Kurose River structure has led to the development of a wide variety of industries such as dairy farming, sericulture, fishery, and
agriculture in each area. In this way, Shikoku Seiyo Geopark was certified as a Japanese Geopark in September 2013 in recognition of the richness of nature and the people who have lived with it. What is the “project to create profitable signboard products for the region that utilizes the unique tourism resources of the region”? In order to realize a full-fledged revival of tourism that supports the local economy, we will utilize tourism resources unique to the area, such as nature, food, history, culture, art, livelihood, and transportation, in order to create signboard products that can earn money. We provide consistent support from content creation to sales channel development. (Excerpt from the Japan Tourism Agency website) Details about this release:
