Hyundai Motor Announces 2022 Global Sales and 2023 Target Sales
・2022 Global sales of 3,940,000 units, up 1.4% year-on-year

 Seoul, January 3, 2023 – Hyundai Motor Company announced that its global sales volume in 2022 was 3,944,579 units, up 1.4% year-on-year.

Despite the severe business environment caused by the spread of COVID-19 and parts supply problems, the number of units sold outside Korea increased due to the recovery of demand in the global automobile market and the strong sales of Hyundai’s main models and new models. increased 2.9% to 3,255,695 units. On the other hand, domestic sales in South Korea decreased by 5.2% year-on-year to 688,884 units.  The monthly global sales volume for December 2022 totaled 347,340 units (276,953 units in overseas markets and 70,387 units in the Korean market).
Last year, we were able to accelerate the transition to
electrification with the strong sales of the IONIQ 5 and the successful launch of the IONIQ 6. In 2022, global sales of the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 will exceed 100,000 units.
By 2023, we aim to sell 4,320,000 units worldwide, including the luxury brand Genesis, by optimizing our business strategies for each region. It plans to sell 3,540,000 units in overseas markets and 781,000 units in Korea.
