(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Shunichi Kito; hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) is a joint venture between Minamiaso Village, Kumamoto Prefecture, Graduate School of Media Design, Keio University, and Kumamoto Livestock Agricultural Cooperative Federation We support the efforts of the “Minami Aso Village Grassland Restoration and Red Cattle Restoration Project” (hereinafter referred to as “this project”) promoted by support for the demonstration of greenhouse gas (methane gas) emission reduction technology in the livestock industry. In addition, we will support the activities of this project by making donations using the “corporate hometown tax” system.
*Ethical: Ways of thinking and actions that consider people, society, the global environment, and local communities
The Aso region, which has one of the world’s largest calderas, is a treasure trove of water sources with abundant natural water. The water source is maintained by the recharge power of the vast grasslands that spread across the watershed, and cattle grazing in the livestock industry plays a major role in preserving the environment of the grasslands.

Kumamoto Akaushi cattle grazing (photo courtesy of Minamiaso village office) This project was launched in July 2022 as part of an
industry-academia-government agreement “Aso’s Agriculture and Livestock Industry and Environmental Conservation It was formed based on the Mutual Cooperation Agreement. This agreement aims to maintain the grassland environment (conservation of water source recharge capacity) through grazing of Kumamoto Akaushi cattle, a representative breed of cattle. We will work to improve the sustainability of our industry. We aim to reduce methane gas emissions from cattle, which is one of the environmental burdens caused by livestock farming, and to create a sustainable agricultural and livestock industry that responds to the growing need for ethical consumption in recent years. Through SDS Biotech Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Toru Abe), a wholly owned affiliated company, our company has been effective in reducing methane gas emissions contained in cow burps. By providing the functional feed Luminup (R), which is expected to increase in popularity, and cooperating on feeding methods, we will support the demonstration of greenhouse gas emission control technology in the livestock industry in Minamiaso Village. At the same time, we used the corporate version of the hometown tax system to donate to Minami Aso Village, and received a letter of appreciation from Minami Aso Village on January 16.
