The second project born from the voices of JAF members!
The Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Nara Branch (branch manager Osamu Kikuchi) has established a tourism agreement with Shimokitayama Village, Nara Prefecture, in order to promote tourism in the branch (Horen Town, Nara City). On February 11th (Sat/holiday), we will hold an event titled “Things you want to know about Shimokitayama Village – Discover the charms! Exchange meeting”.
Last September, the Nara Branch held the JAF Festival Auto Camp Festa in Shimokitayama Village, an event for members to get to know each other at the Shimokitayama Sports Park Campsite (Shimokitayama Village, Nara Prefecture).
At that time, participants said, “I’m interested in Shimokitayama Village in winter as well as in summer, but I’m worried about the road conditions.”
Therefore, this time, we will hold a workshop participatory event “What you want to know about Shimokitayama Village-Discover the charm! Exchange meeting-” so that you can feel Shimokitayama Village in winter more closely.
There will also be workshops using deerskin, sales of special products, advice on installing tire chains from JAF instructors, issuance of children’s safety licenses that can be learned by taking a quiz on traffic rules, and a fun lottery.

・Introduction of road traffic conditions and sightseeing spots in the southeastern part of Nara Prefecture
・Demonstration of tire chain installation
・Issuance of child safety license
・Fun lottery (only for those who present the JAF membership card or participate in the craft workshop)

Sales of specialty products of Shimokitayama Village
1. Purse making
Participation fee: 3,050 yen (required time: about 60-90 minutes) Target age: 4th grade elementary school and above
2. Sacoche making
Participation fee: 3,050 yen (required time: about 60-90 minutes) Target age: 4th grade elementary school and above
3. Making purse (small)
Participation fee: 1,550 yen (required time: about 30 minutes) Target age: 5 years old and over
