Conducted a questionnaire survey of about 4,500 LINE users aged 15 to 24 nationwide
World Cup-related, entertainment, and game titles ranked high in the latest survey
By gender, “FIFA World Cup” was the top choice for men, while “silent” and “Chainsaw Man” were the top choices for women.
LINE Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Tsuyoshi Idezawa) is pleased to announce that it has conducted a survey on trends among young people in the second half of 2022. LINE operates “LINE Research,” a research platform dedicated to smartphones, based on one of the largest active research panels in Japan owned by LINE, with approximately 6.16 million people*. LINE Research conducts quarterly surveys (free-text format) on recent fashions among young men and women aged 15 to 24 nationwide. ・[Latest December term] “FIFA World Cup” ranked high for men, and “silent” and “Chainsaw Man” ranked high for women
■ [Second half summary] World Cup-related, entertainment works, and game titles ranked within the top 10
・According to the most recent survey results for the December term, “FIFA World Cup/World Cup” jumped to 10%, jumping to 1st place, and “Soccer” ranked 9th.
・The anime “Chainsaw Man” was ranked 2nd, which was a big jump from 83rd place last time.
・The drama “silent” for the period ending October 2022 surged into 3rd place. ・Since the new Pokemon series was released on November 18, 2022, “Pokemon Scarlet Violet” ranked 5th and “Pokemon / Pokemon” ranked 7th.
・“TikTok,” which ranked second in the previous survey and consistently ranked high in past surveys, ranked 10th in the latest survey results. ・In the second half, in addition to movies and events released in September and December, animation works such as “SPY×FAMILY”, “Chainsaw Man” and “ONE PIECE”, “Splatoon series” and “Pocket Monster Scarlet” Violet” and other game titles were ranked in the top 10. ・By gender and age, the rankings and tendencies were slightly different. For men, “FIFA World Cup/World Cup” ranked first in all age groups. It is less than 20% among men aged 19 and over, and it can be seen that it has attracted particularly high attention.
・For males aged 15 to 18 and 19 to 22, “Chainsaw Man” was ranked high, while for males aged 19 to 22 and 23 to 24, “Pocket Monsters/Pokemon” and “Pocket Monsters Scarlet Violet” were ranked high.
・Bocchi the Rock!, which ranked 26th overall, ranked 8th among the 19-22 age group.
・For women, the age groups of 19-22 and 23-24, the drama “silent” took first place, beating out the World Cup, which was ranked first overall.
