The Science Council of Japan cooperative academic research group Mental Care Academic Society (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Chairman Takehiko Beppu) held the 9th Kokoro Kentei (sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) in 2022. A 17-year-old third-year high school student living in Chiba Prefecture and his mother took the first grade at the same time, and he was the youngest and passed at the same time as a parent and child. The Kokoro Kentei is a test that measures psychological ability, and the pass rate for Level 1, the highest class, is in the single digits. The test consists of the 1st stage: written test and the 2nd stage: oral/practical test. The range of questions in the first exam is the field areas of Kokoro Test Level 2, “Psychoanatomy and Physiology”, “Psychiatric Basics”, “Basic Counseling Techniques”, as well as “Introduction to Psychiatric Science” and ” Compared to other classes, the range of questions is very wide, such as interview techniques, applied life psychology, counseling techniques, and mental prevention policy studies. The second exam is a highly difficult practical exam, consisting of an oral exam in the subject area and actual counseling skills.
Certified Mental Care Psychologist (R) by the Academic Society of Mental Care is a qualification title that is granted to those who have passed Level 1 of the Kokoro Test.

While I was in high school, most of the students who passed the Kokoro Kentei were grades 3 and 4, and even the highest grade was grade 2.
