[“Asia Young Designer Awards Asia Young Designer Awards”]
This architectural design competition is held by the Nippon Paint Group for students studying architecture and design in 17 regions across Asia. Starting with the event held in Malaysia in 2008, the number of participating regions has increased year by year, and in 2020, we received applications from more than 8,400 students across Asia. Students from different countries compete on the same subject and are judged locally. In addition to the prize money, the winners from each region will receive an invitation to the Asian Student Summit, where students from all over the world come together under one roof. At the summit, students can receive direct advice from well-known architects and designers from around the world who agree with the purpose of this competition, promoting international exchanges between students across countries and regions.
[Harvard Design School Fellowship Fund]
In May 2018, the Nippon Paint Group established a fellowship fund named after Gennosuke Obata, the founding father of Nippon Paint, to support Asian students studying at Harvard Design School. The winner of the highest award at the “Asian Student Summit” will be invited to the “Design Discovery Program”, a summer program held by the Harvard University Design School.
