After meeting with Sir Paul Smith in New York, Commission was selected as an emerging designer. The collaboration was chosen because it was clear that the two brands would have creative synergies, and because Paul’s personal mentorship was likely to have a positive impact. Since founding his eponymous company in 1970, Sir Paul Smith has grown the brand to approximately 130 stores in more than 60 countries and territories. As part of this program, Paul will provide design collaborators of the &PaulSmith collection with invaluable tools and advice on how to grow his brand.
The Paul Smith Foundation’s donation is an important effort to further strengthen the impact of American fashion and emerging talent on the global economy through CFDA’s various programs, including INPACT, Designers Hub and Fashion Future Graduate Showcase (FFGS).
