Mikiwame Announces “Survey Results on the End of Job Hunting and the Timing of Selecting Companies for Top 24 Graduates”
It turned out that early contact is important for job hunting students to improve their ranking. About half of the 2024 graduates from the top schools surveyed have decided on their first choice by December 2022.

Leading Mark Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President Yuji Iida), which provides the HR business “Mikiwame” through Personality Tech, is a 2024 graduate who participates in a joint company information session hosted by our company in January. We will conduct a survey targeting students from the top schools of 24, and announce the results of the survey on when students from the top 24 graduates finish job hunting and when they decide which companies they want to work for.
≪TOPICS≫
By December 2022, 49% of the top students of the 2024 graduates (hereinafter referred to as 24th graduates) targeted for the survey have confirmed their first choice (Top 1 desired companies), and 60% of the desired companies ( The top 20 desired companies have also been confirmed. By March 2023, 80% of students answered that they would like to confirm their first choice (Top 1)
As for when they want to finish job hunting, 56% want to finish before May 2023 Regarding when to start job hunting, 80% of students answered that they started by August 2022.
Compared to 2023 graduates (hereinafter referred to as 23 graduates) and 2024 graduates, although there is no major change in the overall trend, the start of job hunting for 2024 graduates is slightly earlier, and the end of job hunting is also 24 graduates. tended to want to finish early
[Survey overview]
24 When to start job hunting, when to decide first choice, and when to end job hunting
・80% of the 2024 graduates surveyed said they had started job hunting by August. The same trend was observed in the same survey for 23-year-olds, and it can be said that it is common to start job hunting by July-September, when summer internships are held. ・49% of the students answered that their first choice was decided by December 2022. 80% including students who want to finalize by March 2023. The rate of increase was large from January to March (49% in December → 80% in March, +31%), and the rate of increase gradually decreased after April. For recruiters, the follow-up from January to March is considered important in order to put their company in the top list of companies that students want to apply for.
・As for when they want to finish job hunting, 56% want to finish job hunting before May 2023, and 44% including students who want to finish job hunting after June and students who have not decided when to finish job hunting. Every year, there are companies that issue unofficial job offers in June, so it is hypothesized that about half of the people will not finish their work until they have accepted the offer. On the other hand, it is also worth noting that 56% of respondents said they would like to finish job hunting before May, without waiting for June 2023.

Comparison of Job Hunting Contents of 23rd and 24th Graduates ・As for when to start job hunting, the proportion of 24-year-old graduates who start job hunting is higher until around March, but it has increased at almost the same rate since April.
・In the group of applicants (Top 20), after June before the summer internship (June 2021 for 23-year-olds, June 2022 for 24-year-olds), there is a tendency for 24-year-olds to settle earlier. be done. However, nearly 80% of the students want to decide by around February of the following year, and the percentage does not increase much after March, as is the case with 23rd and 24th graduates.
・The first choice companies (top 5) will be decided by 23 graduates until around June before summer internship (June 2021 for 23 graduates, June 2022 for 24 graduates) Somewhat ahead. From July of the same year, 24-year-olds tended to make decisions earlier. However, nearly 80% of the students want to secure a place in the top 5 by around March of the following year, and the tendency for this percentage not to increase much after April is the same as for 23rd and 24th graduates.
・23 graduates are slightly ahead of the time when their first-choice companies (top 1) are decided until around November. From December onwards, 24 graduates tend to lead slightly, but there is no clear difference between the desired company group (Top 20) and the first desired company group (Top 5). Nearly 80% of students want to confirm their first choice (top 1) by around March, and the trend of not increasing much after April is the same as for 23rd and 24th graduates.
・There is a tendency that more 24-year-olds want to finish their job hunting sooner than 23-year-olds. However, there are more 24-year-old students who have not decided when to finish job hunting.

・This survey is based on a sample of students who participated in a joint company information session held in January sponsored by our company, and the target universities are biased toward so-called top schools, and the ratio of men and women and humanities and sciences is uniform. Note that it is not
・Based on this premise, there are the following implications for those in charge of recruiting new graduates.
Instead of raising the degree of aspirations of students after sending out job offers after April, in the period from January to March before sending out job offers, the following companies are the first choice companies (Top 5), preferably first choice It is important to choose a company (Top 1).
Since the percentage of students who chose the companies they want to work for (Top 20) is high in April-July, it is important to show interest in your company to students who do not want to work for your company at all, or who do not want to work in the industry to which your company belongs. Promotions from April to July are important to have.
On the other hand, there are about 20% of the students who have not decided on the group of companies they want to apply for (Top 20) in January (decided after February, or the timing of the decision is undecided). There are still quite a few people who can encourage entry. To increase the number of entries, promotions from February onwards are still valid.
The above trends were already apparent at the 23rd grade, but there was no significant change even for the 24th grade, when the impact of the corona disaster was socially mitigated. In other words, when compared to before the COVID-19 crisis, the earlier start of job hunting and the earlier narrowing down of companies to apply for are not temporary, but have been established. It can be said that it is required to formulate a strategy.
