With the aim of cultivating next-generation human resources who can play an active role in a wide range of advanced science and technology fields through industry-government-academia collaboration, the Oita Prefectural Board of Education announced on Saturday, January 28, 2023 that the next generation will be trained through STEAM education and space science technology. An event aiming to develop human resources, “High School Student Symposium on Space and Science (Organizer: Oita Prefectural Board of Education, Planning and Management: Barbara Pool Co., Ltd., Cooperation: General Incorporated Association STEAM JAPAN)” will be held at the Oita Prefectural Education Center.
STEAM education is a new educational model that cultivates the ability to solve the problems of modern society. Based on the concept of developing Asia’s first Oita Airport into a space port, the Oita Prefectural Board of Education aims to develop the next generation who can play an active role globally from a cross-sectoral perspective through STEAM education and SDGs ahead of the rest of the country. . This time, about 200 high school students in Oita Prefecture will be given a lecture by a top runner active in the space industry and a workshop where they can experience STEAM education in collaboration with specialized institutions.
