The problem of a large amount of surplus milk that occurs every winter. In order to minimize food loss, we will sell sweets and bread that consume a lot of milk with recipes developed by vocational school students and high school students.
Due to the outbreak of nationwide butter shortages, a plan to increase milk production was implemented. Immediately after that, the demand for commercial butter stagnated due to the impact of the new coronavirus, and as a result of a mismatch between supply and demand, there was a problem of surplus raw milk, and there was concern that about 5,000 tons of raw milk would be discarded in Japan.
Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries launched the Smile Project with Milk. We are working to expand consumption of milk and dairy products.
