About the theme for 2023 “Flower Shapes – Individual charm created by petals -” [Image 4
“Single green calyx” with a single middle ring and bluish white flowers The Odawara Flower Garden’s “Plum Festival” sets a different theme every year, and changes the varieties that attract attention each year, so that you can learn about the various charms of plums. We are able to carry out such initiatives because we have
approximately 300 varieties, one of the largest in the Kanto region, and our experienced staff thoroughly manages them meticulously while receiving support from external advisors.
A quiz rally where you can enjoy watching plums
In 2023, the theme will be “Flower Shapes: Individual Charms Created by Petals”, and we will focus on the number, shape, color, and three-dimensional opening of the petals. Please enjoy viewing the differences between the varieties through the quiz rally set up in the plum garden of the mountain stream and the explanation board of the varieties.
Cherry blossoms tend to be the focus of attention during cherry blossom viewing, but unlike cherry blossoms, which are often seen as a whole tree, plum blossoms offer the advantage of taking your time and enjoying each individual flower. It is also a real pleasure to be wrapped in the sweet and soft scent of plum blossoms.
By all means, please enjoy each flower up close at Keiryu Umezono in Odawara Flower Garden.
