Kyoto Tachibana Gakuen 3rd Master Plan [Overview]
-Aiming to create new social value in the AI era by creating an environment where everyone can learn and play an active role-
Kyoto Tachibana Gakuen (Yamashina Ward, Kyoto City, Chairman: Yu Umemoto) has formulated a third master plan (mid-term business plan) that will start in 2023, and will promote further reforms with the aim of creating new social value. It was become a thing.
In this reform, with universities at the center, we will solve social issues in the AI era with the graduate school of information and engineering as the starting point, new educational development and regional creation starting with media/art and correspondence education, and collaboration between medicine and engineering. We have set priority issues such as improving people’s health and contributing to the enhancement of medical care in the local community by strengthening the school, and developing new educational creation as a private comprehensive school.
The details are as follows.
*The following contents are all under planning and are subject to change. In particular, regarding the establishment of new departments and graduate schools, there is a possibility that changes will be made, including the year of establishment, as specific plans will begin in the future.

About the 3rd Master Plan -Learn to change the world-
1) Business purpose – “Learn to change the world” as the slogan for reform. Aiming for unprecedented new education, research, and regional creation to solve social issues in the AI era.
The world we live in is undergoing remarkable changes, such as the acceleration of globalization, the development of IT and AI, and the global epidemic of infectious diseases. New lifestyles and value creation bring about social development, but at the same time, in the midst of increasing uncertainty and diversity, how can young people, who will lead the next generation, hope to play an active role in society? As an educational institution, we should always face the question of whether or not we should acquire the basics.
In the third master plan, we would like to carry out various reforms that are ahead of the times, rather than following precedents, while valuing the philosophy and history of our school.
2) Medium-term strategic goals
In the 3rd master plan, we will create a foundation for creating new social value unique to this school, aiming to develop education and produce human resources that meet social needs. Specifically, based on the social situation and the characteristics of our school, we will raise the following three pillars.
(1) [Enhancing the field of informatics/promoting education using the media] We will expand education and research across the humanities and sciences, as well as communication and media education. In this way, we will provide the education required for people of various positions, ages and regions without being bound by social or geographical conditions.
(2) [Strengthening medical-engineering collaboration]
We aim to contribute to the realization of a healthy society by further developing and linking our medical, health, and engineering fields, which are our strengths, and by improving education, promoting local health, and proposing new forms of medical care.
(3) [Education Creation]
With an unprecedented approach, we will work to transform educational content, methods, and environments, and present a new form of learning to society.
We will create comprehensive international policies, education and childcare, and new ways of learning unique to our school, while strengthening cooperation with the local community.
3) Concrete concept plan
Toward the realization of our business objective of “Changing the world through learning,” we have set the following six points as priority issues to be addressed by fiscal 2027, with the aim of creating new value and businesses.
(1) Promoting the resolution of social issues in the AI age starting from the Graduate School of Information and Engineering
(2) New educational development and regional creation based on media/art/correspondence education
(3) Strengthening medical-engineering collaboration to contribute to improving people’s health and improving medical care in local communities
(4) Proposing new education and childcare to society
(5) Implementation of comprehensive international policies to strengthen ties with the world
(6) Supporting reforms, building an organization that continues to grow, and fostering a culture
4) [Kyoto Tachibana University] Quantitative goal – Through the execution of the 3rd master plan, Kyoto Tachibana University will become a comprehensive university with a capacity of 10,000 students. (1) Number of commuter course students: 8,000 (accommodation capacity at the time of completion) *Currently 6,524 (at the time of completion of all departments)
(2) Number of correspondence course students: 2,000 (accommodation capacity at the time of completion) *Currently 1,080
