Yoshio Inoue’s first all-song original album “Greenville” will be released on March 22 (Wednesday).
Today, prior to the CD release, pre-delivery of “The Only” and “Angels and Devils” from the album has started.
Comments from Kitri and Monuncle, who provided each song, have been released on the special site.
This album is named after the city of Greenville in the state of North Carolina, USA, where Yoshio Inoue spent his childhood with his family and gained the experience that became the foundation of what he is today. Various artists, including Kotringo, who is also the sound producer of this work, provide songs under the theme that Inoue himself raised, “Songs that gently snuggle up to the various situations that everyone experiences, such as the hardships and sorrows that come inside”.
Each theme will be broken down by each artist, and 10 conceptual songs will be recorded.
“The Only” by the piano duet vocal unit Kitri is an acoustic pop that wraps the sincere vocals typical of Yoshio Inoue with a string quartet and piano. Created under Yoshio Inoue’s theme of “comparable,” it is a work that conveys a warm sense of affirmation as one embraces one’s individuality and faces the future. Kitri, who provided the music, said, “When I heard the finished sound, I remember my heart trembling with the precious singing voice full of affection.

I was made to feel the power of songs and words many times. “Angels and Devils” by the songwriter duo Monocle is an acoustic and jazzy R&B that depicts the mentality of accepting the contradictions between partners and living every day together. Sara Yoshida of Mononcle plays the chorus, and Kotringo, who also produces other albums with Ryuta Tsunoda on the double bass, plays the piano. The song is a new challenge for him, with Inoue’s painful yet luscious vocals fresh. Monocle, who provided the music, said, “Whether you believe in a big theme such as faith or conviction, or whether it’s about your family or your lover, you can’t just leave it to the heat when you start believing. I’m sure it’s fragile, and I’ll continue to believe while forgiving contradictions and accepting that I don’t have an answer.
