Providing educational content aimed at promoting “STEAM education” with e-sports as an entry point developed by NASEF JAPAN ahead of the rest of the country
The Japan Headquarters of the North American Educational Esports Federation, a specified non-profit organization, has been engaged in various activities to support the development of human resources who will play an active role in society in the future through esports. This time, Ishigaki City (Mayor: Yoshitaka Nakayama) and companies in Ishigaki City will participate in the “Regional Revitalization through e-Sports Ishigaki City Project” to support “IT and global human resource development” through e-sports. We will announce what we have done.

We will carry out activities to broadly deepen the understanding of the educational value of e-sports in Ishigaki City, while promoting the spread of e-sports and expanding the competitive population, creating new industries and developing IT human resources, and promoting young people through e-sports. The purpose is to contribute to “regional revitalization through e-sports” aiming to realize a society where all people, including the elderly and people with disabilities, can play an active role.

Since Ishigaki City does not have any universities or vocational schools on the island, many young people leave the area after graduating from high school. We have a track record of many public projects in Ishigaki City, and we also manage the facilities of the “Nobuzumi Ohama Memorial Hall”, which is the base of this project’s “e-sports exchange space”. In this project, we will manage the overall progress and manage the facility operation of the “esports exchange space” and recruit local companies/organizations/volunteers who sympathize with our philosophy. Remar Pro is an advertising production company that operates web business, printing business and e-sports business nationwide, mainly in Okinawa. In recent years, we have been carrying out activities aimed at “development of IT human resources and regional
revitalization through e-sports” in Okinawa Prefecture. We hope that all parents and guardians will understand the “charm and value of esports”, spread this initiative throughout the prefecture, and create an environment where children can easily move. In this project, we will cooperate mainly in the field of event production, and will support the students themselves with the goal of planning and managing e-sports competitions.

According to survey data by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, there will be a shortage of about 450,000 IT personnel by 2030. As a person in the IT industry, we believe that it is our responsibility to help develop IT human resources. In addition, our company has a lot of knowledge, know-how and networks regarding e-sports, so we would like to help the regional development of Ishigaki City through e-sports.

The North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) is an international organization that supports the development of human resources who will be active in society in the future through esports. Currently, we are focusing on “promoting STEAM education with e-sports as an entry point” and are developing various educational program contents, and this project will be the first time to practice some of the contents. We will provide the knowledge, know-how, and network that we have cultivated so far to high school students and educators in Ishigaki City, and help develop “IT human resources” and “global human resources”. We would like to introduce advanced cases all over the country and expand this initiative nationwide.
