Yoshinoya has switched the raw material of some take-out shopping bags to biomass plastic “Rice Resin (R)” using domestic rice (non-edible) Select domestically produced biomass plastic that contributes not only to the environment but also to agriculture

Yoshinoya Co., Ltd. (President: Yasutaka Kawamura, Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as Yoshinoya) is part of the takeout shopping bags used at Yoshinoya stores nationwide as part of measures to reduce the environmental impact of plastic. The raw material of the Biomass Resin Holdings Group (CEO: Takehito Kamiya, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has been switched to the biomass plastic “Rice Resin (R)”, which is upcycled from domestic rice (non-edible) manufactured by the Biomass Resin Holdings Group. “Rice Resin (R)” is produced from domestic rice that is discarded without being used as feed, such as old rice that is not suitable for eating, crushed rice generated by rice cracker manufacturers, etc. We use resource rice as raw material. Yoshinoya, whose main product is gyudon, has an inseparable relationship with rice. “Resin (R)” was selected.
