We implement a curriculum that aims not only for on-site staff to develop applications, but also to cultivate a culture that utilizes technology within the organization. In addition to taking classes, try to solve actual business problems around you.

The “short-term intensive course to sharpen the ability to digitally solve everyday business problems” provided by the prototyping school “Proto Out Studio” that develops not only programming but also planning and communication skills at the same time will be held by MaxValu Tokai Co., Ltd. in 2022. ■ No-code development and AI are all the rage, but the current situation is not actually pervasive
As represented by no-code/low-code development tools, the
democratization of digital technology has progressed, and anyone can now use digital technology. However, there is a lack of experience and opportunities to promote problem-solving behavior such as “trying to use” in the field of business issues, and many organizations have a sense of challenge that so-called DX will not permeate.
At the ProtoOut Studio, we not only teach the on-site staff how to develop applications, but also
, the ability for students to perceive problems that occur in the actual workplace as problems
and consistently perform everything from production to test operation in a short period of time
By implementing the program, we are working not only to develop the individual, but also to foster the culture of the team and the entire organization.

A scene from the presentation of the student’s production and on-site operation implementation
ProtoOut Studio is Japan’s first prototyping school established by dotstudio Co., Ltd. in 2019, and is a school that simultaneously develops planning, technical, and communication skills. We are developing skills that cannot be supplemented by existing business schools and programming schools. Not only to implement applications, but also to connect to society
We implement a curriculum aimed at URL:
https://prtimes.jp/main/html/rd/p/000000016.000020328.html Curriculum centered on own application and feedback while touching the latest technology
This program consists of a “technical application class” to learn, touch and apply digital technology, a “production class” to take up everyday problems and actually take action to solve them using digital technology, and finally announce the results widely in the company. It consists of three parts of the “results presentation” that you will receive.
1. Technical application class
Acquisition of technology through hands-on classes (practical use of a wide range of technologies such as LINE Bot, machine learning, and RPA)
Application and practice of learning through homework
Consolidation and sublimation of learning through feedback
Determining the theme of the production
2. Production class
Determination of issues to be dealt with and hearing/interview with the issue site
Prototyping and field trials
, validate and get feedback
Improvements from feedback
Presentation practice and guidance for the results presentation 3. Results presentation
*An in-house results presentation was held on the last day of class. Opportunity to share results
Presentation in front of an audience including the superiors of the students ■Student deliverables (partial excerpt)

An app that monitors unmanned supermarket stores
Promoting the conversion of analog work into data with a user-friendly design Efforts targeting operations in unmanned stores that have just been launched, with a mountain of analog operations.
Product checks at unmanned stores are done on a paper basis, and in order to solve the problem of not being able to grasp the situation in real time, we challenged to visualize the product status using Glide and Google Spreadsheet.
By having users actually use it at work sites and repeating
corrections and updates while incorporating the opinions of users, it is possible to not only utilize digital technology, but also to actually use it, saying that “a design that does not only benefit the administrator side is necessary”. I experienced the necessity of business design that snuggles up to the side.
This app, which was implemented in the final production of the curriculum, is actually being used within the team even after about half a year.

chanto recipe
The chief of the side dish corner implements an application unique to the site Specifications (so-called recipes) for side dishes are provided on paper and there are many types, so it is difficult to find them in the first place. , problems are easy to gather. This is an example of how to solve such problems by digitizing specifications.
We realized the digitization of prepared dish specifications with Vietnamese translation, and it was well received at the site. Initially, we used the no-code tool “Glide”, which was mainly operated in English, but in order to proceed with the implementation more smoothly, we adopted Click (not handled in class), which can be operated in Japanese. .
In this curriculum, we will touch on how to use technology and tools, but how to research and think about technology
I will also tell you. Students investigate and make decisions on their own about technologies not introduced in class
This is an example of introducing the system.

You can check the work plan in 3 seconds
Focusing on slight awkwardness in communication
It seems that there are many scenes in which a team doing office work calls a boss or a colleague for a little confirmation. At that time, the way to check if the other person was free was to check the work plan sheet managed by Excel.
Since it is troublesome to open a computer and check Excel each time, we created a mechanism that allows schedules to be shared and confirmed on a smartphone, and improved the existing operation rules while involving others.
I went to The people around me, who were initially reluctant to change the operation, gradually started to support me after seeing the students’ efforts.
