Every March 8th is International Women’s Day established by the United Nations. It is a memorial day established to protect women’s rights and aim for gender equality regardless of country or ethnicity. Since its founding, Be has been implementing initiatives in line with one of the goals of SDGs17, “5. Let’s achieve gender equality.”
This time, we will invite Ms. Junko Arisaka, the representative director of Verde Marula, as a guest. Arisaka originally belonged to the JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. At that time, I was fascinated by the power of the African women I met, and after returning to Japan, I went to Africa again to launch my own business.
