INTEC Acquires ECHONET Lite AIF Certification for Smart Home App “UCHITAS” – Promoting home energy management initiatives such as electric vehicles (EVs) –
Intec Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, President: Takayuki Kitaoka, hereinafter referred to as Intec), a TIS INTEC Group company, operates home appliances from outside the home in cooperation with the smart home application “UCHITAS” that can manage home appliances. We are pleased to announce that the companion app*1 “UCHITAS Connect” has acquired ECHONET Lite AIF certification for electric vehicle chargers and dischargers.
“ECHONET Lite” is a communication protocol formulated by the ECHONET Consortium, intended to control home appliances and the like via a network. The ECHONET Lite AIF certification is granted by testing the target device by a testing laboratory accredited by the ECHONET Consortium.
“UCHITAS Connect” is an application that can be used by installing it on the target media streaming device*2 and operating it from “UCHITAS”. Interconnectivity with electric vehicle chargers and dischargers from various manufacturers has been improved, making it safer to use.
If companies and individuals interested in home energy management already have the target media streaming device, they can use the provided function without purchasing or installing new connection equipment.
*1 Companion app: An application that can be installed on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to enable cooperation with network-connected TVs and game consoles.
*2 Media streaming device: A terminal that displays video distribution content and smartphone/computer screens on a TV.

■ Correspondence to the “eight priority devices” defined by the “ECHONET Lite” standard
 In order to promote energy conservation in the household sector, the government has designated home appliances and housing equipment that are closely related to energy as the “eight priority appliances” and is promoting their use (optimal control) in HEMS*3. In addition, “ECHONET Lite” is recommended as a well-known standard interface for HEMS, and “ECHONET Lite” defines standards for each of the “eight priority devices.”
“UCHITAS” and “UCHITAS Connect” are working to comply with the “eight priority devices” standards defined by the “ECHONET Lite” standard. The status of “UCHITAS Connect” compliance with the “eight priority devices” designated by the government and the standards related to each “ECHONET Lite” is as follows.

■ Future development
“UCHITAS” is working on home automation with the aim of ensuring a time and environment where users can concentrate on what they want to do, and realizing a simple life that is fulfilling both physically and mentally. As part of this, we are expanding our home energy management functions, and we will continue to support the currently unsupported 8 priority devices, such as solar power generation. In addition, we plan to promote initiatives that contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society, such as providing a function that recommends to users how to reduce power consumption by monitoring the power usage status of each home appliance.

“UCHITAS” is a smart home app that allows you to manage your home appliances, operate remote controls, and view instruction manuals. It supports the shortcut function of the iOS version, and you can easily experience the smart home using voice operation and automation. By linking with UCHITAS Connect, which is compatible with media streaming devices, it is possible to grasp the operating status of home appliances and operate remote controls from outside the home, such as when you are away from home or traveling.
