[Survey Report] What do people focus on the most when deciding whether to watch a live stream? The first place is “Broadcaster’s talk power”!
Information media “Sublive” ( operated by Review Co., Ltd. ( is a useful information media for teens and older all over Japan. We conducted a questionnaire survey on “what everyone places the most importance on when deciding whether to watch a live broadcast”.

Summary of survey results
When we conducted a survey to find out what everyone thought most about when they were wondering whether to watch a live broadcast, the number one was the “distributor’s ability to talk.”
Others will be introduced in the ranking format.

The first place was “distributor’s talk power”.
After the 2nd place, “delivery plan content” and “number of viewers” ​​followed, and “distributor voice” came in 7th place.

1st place: Broadcaster’s talk power
・If the broadcaster’s talk is interesting and the tempo is good, it will be interesting to watch. (Female in her 40s)
・Because watching it isn’t interesting, I get sleepy and want to see something different, so I chose it because I thought it would be interesting to watch someone who has the ability to talk. (Female in her 20s)
・If the talk is not interesting, it will be a boring and painful time no matter how well-known you are or how good your face is. I think that satisfaction is high if the talk is interesting even if the name recognition is not high. (Female in her 20s)
The first place is “distributor’s talk power”.
No matter how popular a streamer is, if they don’t have the ability to talk, it’s boring.

2nd place: Plan content for distribution
・No matter how famous a person is, if they are not interested in the content of the project, it would be a waste of time to see it, so the content is the most important thing. (Female in her 40s)
・If it’s something I’m interested in, I’ll say, “Oh, let’s check it out.” I think it’s a bit of a maniac project. (Female in her 30s) ・If the content of the distribution plan is interesting, I will try to watch it once even if it is a distribution by a distributor that I have never seen before. Even popular broadcasters will not watch if the content is boring, and even if the content is not well known, they will want to watch it if the content is interesting.

3rd place: number of viewers
・If the number of people is small, people tend to refrain from doing so because they feel embarrassed because they may be identified. (Female in her 20s)
・If the number of viewers is too small, they may think, “Am I only watching myself?” (Male, 20s)
・When deciding whether to watch it, I think that if there are many viewers, it will not be missed. Because I guess that many people are watching it is reasonably interesting. (Male, 30s)

4th: Popularity of the distributor
・Because livestreams of famous people are often exciting, and extreme ones are rare. It’s fun to be famous. (Female in her 20s)
・If a famous person is broadcasting, I will watch it. Besides, I think that it is interesting if the face is good. I think there is no mistake. (Female in her 20s)
・I rarely see anonymous people. If it’s an artist I like who will let me know in advance, I’d like to take the time to see it. (Female in her 40s)

5th place: Number of times you pick up comments
・When there are people whose comments are picked up and those who are not picked up, it makes me feel uneasy. (Female in her 40s)
・It’s not just a live stream, but I can have conversations with my favorite celebrities by having their comments picked up, so I’m always looking forward to it. (Female in her 30s)
・Because you can feel like you can be with them when they reply to your comments. Because you can feel a sense of unity with the listener. Because you care about your listeners. (Female in her 30s)

5th place: Distributor’s face
・The face is the gateway to everything, and then judges whether the broadcaster’s speaking style and speaking ability are suitable for him/herself. (Male, 30s)
・Faces are the first thing people see, so if their face is cool or cute, even if their talk is weak, they will see it. (Male, 20s) ・Facial impression is a very important aspect, as it’s the only way to see it directly before clicking. (Male, 30s)

7th place: Distributor’s voice
・If the broadcaster’s voice is too loud or doesn’t suit your taste, watching the broadcast for a long time will be exhausting. (Female in her 30s)
・If it’s a voice that I’m not good at, I feel so painful that I can’t listen to it all the time, so I value the voice. (Female from 50s) ・Select a broadcaster whose voice is easy to hear even if you are watching. Because if you don’t like the voice, you can’t watch the broadcast for a long time. (Female in her 30s)
The 7th place was “Distributor’s voice”.
If you don’t like the voice, listening to the voice for a long time will make you tired, so the broadcaster’s voice is a necessary element to watch for a long time.

When we conducted a survey of 100 people, 41.0% of the total answered “the ability of the broadcaster to talk.”
Also, as reasons for answering, there were many opinions such as the opinion that if the broadcaster’s talk ability is high, it will attract interest, and the opinion that it will be satisfying if it is interesting.
The content is also important, but you can see that the talk power of the distributor is an important point.
